Mountain Bay Elementary's Learning Environment
Welcome to Mountain Bay Elementary School
Mountain Bay Elementary School was built in 2006. Our students, families, staff, and community benefit from our beautiful facility and grounds right along the Mountain-Bay State Trail. The school includes many areas boasting of natural light, spacious common work/activity areas, and a variety of hallway paintings welcoming students as they learn throughout the day. The school's playground is divided into two areas for K-2 and 3-5 students and includes abundant green space providing all students with opportunities to learn through play.
Our current student enrollment is approximately 450 students. Mountain Bay is dedicated to serving the needs of all students. This includes district specific programs and special education programs with a variety of learning needs (learning, emotional, physical, speech, etc.). In addition, the D.C. Everest district and Mountain Bay employ specialists to assist in developing the whole child. Certified staff provide music, art, life skills, physical education, and library instruction. A school counselor is also available for individual, group, and classroom counseling.
The goal of our staff is to educate your child(ren) to the best of their ability. We continue to promote wellness for students, staff, and the community. We encourage physical activity and healthy eating. In addition, we teach students the importance of teamwork and social skills and will reinforce appropriate use of these skills by recognizing students for their academic and behavioral success.
The work and passion of the Mountain Bay staff is evident as Mountain Bay was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2017 for its exemplary achievement gap closing. Despite the recognition, the staff at Mountain Bay remain passionate about educating our students for academic achievement and future success.
